Meet Our Indoor Weather Experts

Indoor weathermaking is really a "people business." It's all about comfort - your comfort - and part of that comfort comes from confidence in a name you trust. As a results-oriented problem-solver, Willis Carrier earned that trust at the turn of the century. The company that bears his name today earns your trust the same way.

As an indoor weather expert, we at Polar Air Conditioning will help you select the right products to create an indoor weather system that will exceed your expectations. We will take into account the size and design of you home, the seasonal changes of you outdoor environment, utility and fuel options, your lifestyle and use of the home, and the many other factors that determine your indoor weather needs.

We will thoroughly consider your expressed needs and help you understand the many ways those needs can be met by Carrier products. This process of understanding and defining your comfort needs is the reason why Carrier continues to design, manufacture and install indoor weather systems that exceed homeowners' comfort, efficiency, and performance expectations. We realize that you don't just purchase indoor weather equipment from us, you buy results. That's why we're so proud to offer custom made indoor weather designed specifically for your home.

A Basis for Comparison - Carrier's Guide to Energy Efficiency Terms like SEER, AFUE, and HSPF are commonly used to describe efficiency ratings in the indoor weather industry. Offering indoor weather equipment that ranges from the minimum industry requirements to the world's most totally energy efficient, you indoor weather expert can help you choose the indoor weather equipment that's right for you.

AFUE - (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) is the standard measurement of efficiency for gas and oil-free furnaces. Given in percentages, this number tells you how much of your fuel is used to heat your home and how much fuel is simply wasted. The higher the AFUE rating, the greater the efficiency. Carrier offers a full line of furnaces with AFUE ratings ranging from the minimum industry requirement of 80% to more than 96%.

SEER - (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) is the measure of efficiency by which the cooling process of air conditioners and heat pumps is rated. The higher the SEER number, the greater the efficiency, which translates into greater energy savings. Today, U.S. regulatory agencies require all new models to have a 13.0 SEER rating or better. Carrier's full line of air conditioners offers SEER ratings of 13.0 to 21.0. Carrier's heat pumps offer SEER ratings of 13.0 to 19.0

HSPF - (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor) is the efficiency measurement used to gauge the efficiency of the heating mode of heat pumps. Again, the higher the number, the greater the efficiency. Today's models are required to have 6.8 HSPF. Carrier offers heat pumps with HSPF ratings ranging from 6.8 to 9.4.
